Open your files, build your first quote and keep a separate copy of your work. These instructions apply to the downloadable CleanQuote Pro edition.

1. Open the download

  1. Open your Gumroad purchase page or receipt and download the ZIP.
  2. Extract the ZIP into a folder on your computer. Keep START-HERE.html and CleanQuote.html together.
  3. Open START-HERE.html for the guide, then open CleanQuote.html directly in a recent desktop browser with JavaScript enabled.
  4. Select Load example to explore fictional figures. Select Start fresh before making your own quote.

No installation or separate product account is needed. The calculator and guide are contained in the files. File-opening and local-storage behaviour can vary by browser.

2. Build your first quote

  1. Service & customer: enter your business, customer, location and included service. Select USD, GBP or EUR; every cost uses that currency, with no conversion.
  2. Costs per visit: enter the number of cleaners, hours per cleaner, hourly cost, paid travel time, supplies, vehicle costs and allocated overhead. Enter 0 for costs that do not apply.
  3. Margin & presentation: set a target margin below 100%, a rounding increment and agreed visits per billing month. Choose a per-visit or monthly price.
  4. Review: select Create proposal. Check the scope, price, notes and customer details before sharing.

The scope helper reads some explicit figures from pasted text or a .txt brief. You review those details; it does not estimate cleaning times or choose rates.

Export the customer document

Download HTML creates a separate proposal file. Print / Save PDF opens your browser’s print dialog; choose its PDF option if available. Internal cost and margin fields are excluded from the proposal. The app does not email it automatically.

Understand the calculation

Price before rounding = entered costs ÷ (1 − target margin). For $150 in costs and a 25% target margin, the price is $200. Contribution after entered costs is not your business’s net profit. Taxes and any costs you omit are not calculated.

3. Save drafts and keep backups

Save draft stores a quote in the current browser when storage is available. Saved quotes lets you reopen, duplicate or delete saved drafts.

Select Export backup to save stored drafts as JSON. Keep dated copies separately. To restore them, open Saved quotes → Import backup and choose a previously exported backup.

The app supports up to 150 saved drafts, subject to available browser storage. Import merges records by draft ID and keeps the newer saved version. A failed save or import displays a message.

Local storage needs a separate backup

Drafts do not sync across devices. Moving or renaming local HTML files, changing browsers, clearing browser data or using private browsing can make drafts unavailable. Some browsers restrict storage for local files.

Export a backup before moving the app or clearing data. Backups include saved drafts only and cannot recover an unsaved quote. A backup contains internal costs and customer details: keep it private. Share the reviewed proposal with your customer.

Troubleshooting

The screen is blank or buttons do not respond.

Extract the ZIP first. Open CleanQuote.html in a desktop browser rather than an in-app file preview. Check that JavaScript is enabled. The online interactive example is a separate demonstration, not your purchased file.

The price is blank or a field is highlighted.

Complete every required cost field, using 0 where appropriate. Cleaners and visits must be whole numbers. Cleaning hours and the rounding increment must be greater than 0. Target margin must be from 0% to below 100%.

A draft did not save.

Storage may be blocked or full. Export the current proposal to keep its visible content. Export existing saved drafts before changing browser or file location. An error means the current draft has not been safely saved.

How do I use it on another computer?

Copy the product files and a separate JSON backup to that computer, open the calculator in a desktop browser, then import the backup. There is no automatic cloud sync.

Data and purchase information

Downloaded calculator: quote entries are processed on your device. Drafts use browser storage when available, and backups are files you choose to export. The downloadable edition has no cloud sync, AI service, automatic customer email or built-in transmission of quote entries.

This website: the interactive example uses fictional figures and keeps changes in page memory. We have added no marketing tracking scripts or advertising pixels to these pages. Website hosting and external services may process connection data under their own policies.
